Goal of Battle
To open passageway into Jupiter Prime by way of force.
Means
Plutonian Military has decided entryway into Jupiter Prime would be easiest to take and defend
through Jupiter 19, a temporary moon of Jupiter that would suit our purposes adequately.
Information on Jupiter 19
Jupiter 19 is a temporary moon of Jupiter, devoid of most useful materials. However, it is rich
in trianron ore (main Plutonian space vehicle fuel) and is easy to mine. It would be an ideal
refuling point for the fleet once it is captured and ready to move into Jupiter Prime.
Protection
Our scouts reported 3 Juptonian Battle Crusers, 7 Juptonian Destroyers, 20 Juptonian Fighter
Carriers, 10 Juptonian Frigates, 3 Saturnian Frigates and a Juptonian Temporary Refueling point.
There was also a minimally guarded mining station of the moon itself reported.
Battle Plan
The battle plan was to strike quickly, before the Juptonian fleet could pull itself together.
The hope was that although there were many ships defending the moon, they would not be difficult
to defeat.
We sent in 5 Heavy Combat Destroyers, 10 Light Combat Destroyers, 500 P-198 Fighters, 15 Frigates and a small troop carrier.
Results of Battle
Shortly before reaching Jupiter 19, contact was lost with Battle Command on Pluto. The Fleet
commander ordered an investigation and, if possible, re-establishment of communication.
Just before reaching Jupiter 19, the fleet encountered a mine field. 1 Light Combat Destroyer, 400 fighters, 5 light battle crusers and the troop carrier were immediately lost in the mine field. A large Juptonian force engaged our fleet within the mine field, larger than our scouts had reported. The entire assault fleet was destroyed.
Reprecussions of Battle
Many good plutonians were lost, major damges done to the fleet, but no major strategic losses.
We are working on rebuilding the lost ships, and hopefully the memory of those lost in battle
will not fade.
